This is one of the few famicom Star Wars games that are not in english. And infact I think this is the only game that is not in english. This game is based on the first movie and is not quite inline with the story as you will see if you play it. Some have said that this game looks like it was meant to be another game and was changed at the last moment. You will notice that Luke has black hair for one. And that he starts off with a light sabre that he should have recieved somewhat later on as he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi. Luke also has to rescue Obi-Wan Kenobi, instead of running into him on the planet Tatooine. Another main difference is that when you fight some of the bosses you will notice that the boss starts off as Darth Vader and then transforms after you inflict your first blow. What Darth Vader transforms to is different for each mission. The first boss is on the planet Tatooine and is a giant scorpian. You will be amazed by the differences.
On a technical note this game is mapper 19 or the Namcot 106 PCB. 8KB bank select and most that I've seen has a max PRG and CHR size of 128KB. Most emulators that I've seen dont seem to emulate this game correctly. Nesten seems to emulate this game correctly from what I can tell. NNnesterJ and FCEU seems to have problems emulating the joystick controls of this game accurately for some reason.
Update History
02-08-09 - Version 1.10 has been released. A few emulation incompatibilities have been solved. Also, the force menu has been redone to use one tile per letter instead of squishy fonts. Also, the dialog has been adjusted a bit to have more of a Star Wars feel to it. A big thanks to Cahos Rahne Veloza in testing and making suggestions to improve the patch, along with discovering the patch does not work right with Nestopia 1.37.

01-21-09 - The project is nearly complete, a release should be soon. The continue mode hack does not work with the new translation currently, so the hack will be delayed for a time.
